Woodworking Projects

Woodworking project crafted from solid wood, completed through the process of design, planning, processing, and finishing. I focused on capturing the softness and elegance of curved forms through wood which is typically known for its rigid and rough texture, highlighting a contrast between material and design.

This piece, consists of warm beige palette with golden wire for an accent, was inspired by coral reefs. Used raw wood as the base to bring out the organic curves and softness of coral through sanding to mimic its natural elegance.

Created an abstract representation of a ball bouncing dynamically down a hill. Used styrofoam, solid wood, and clay to craft the piece to convey a sense of movement. The clay balls are connected with invisible threads, and the wooden structure is balanced without a visible support on one side, creating a sense of denial in gravity.

Inspired by the traditional Korean hat “갓”, this piece captures its elegance and cultural significance. Focused on the natural texture and grain of solid wood to create a sense of timelessness and sophistication. The smoothly sanded “갓” was carefully hung on the wooden structure, highlighting their beauty through a balance of tradition and craftsmanship.
